winter weekend getaway

My husband and i are heading north for a quick weekend overnight. We%26#39;re looking for suggestions for a hotel right on the water, something lovely and relaxing. We%26#39;ve been to the southern maine coast many times, but generally stay with friends. We%26#39;d be fine with anything from York up to Ogunquit, possibly a bit further north, but not too far. We%26#39;re driving up Saturday morning to lunch in K%26#39;port with friends, and then have saturday night and sunday all to ourselves. Any suggestions of someplace right on the water that is open this time of year? If they have midwinter deals, all the better. Also, feel free to toss in suggestions for restaurants. we%26#39;re both foodies with a lot of cooking experience.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I%26#39;d recommend the Beachmere Inn in Ogunquit.

Union Bluff at York Beach - I have heard Blue Sky is a great place for ';foodies'; but I also heard bring your wallet.

The Beachmere Inn is right on Marginal Way with views that make you not want to leave your room. They also offer packages with dinner at Clay Hill Farm.

Clay Hill is a great place!
