west or south wing at beachmere inn?

Hi

I am currently booked for the beginning of August at a great place called Mill Falls on Lake Winnipesaukee, but we are thinking about changing it for the Maine coast. After a lot of research, I decided on the beachmere inn. I will be traveling with my wife and 2 kids, ages 4 and 16 months. One important part of the trip is being able to easily walk to restaurants, shops and beach, and the beachmere seems perfect for this... Also a deck or patio so my wife and I can sit outside when the kids are napping or at night. A pool would be great, but the beachmere doesn%26#39;t have one unfortunately.

One reason we are looking to change itinerary is to save a little cash as our room at Mill Falls is over $425/night, but does include some breakfast and some dinners. Now my question, I am currently holding a room in the ';beachmere south'; which is $350/night. It is one of the newer suite rooms on the lower floor which seems like a nice option with the kids since we can simply step out our door and be outside. I am also interested in the ';beachmere west'; rooms which are $280/night. However, it seems these all just have a balcony, with no direct access to outside. Does anyone have any opinions on these rooms and is it worth saving the $70/night and staying in beachmere west? Is the only difference the view and the balcony?

Thanks!!!

Matt

Hi Matt, The Beachmere Inn is my favorite place to stay in Ogunquit. We usually go off season so we can make multiple trips a year. We just spent my husband%26#39;s 50th birthday in room 206 which is located at the end of the south building, best room in the house only $175 in February. In October we stayed in the West Building (Room 120 I think). I believe you will be very happy with the south building. In October I saw many families that had the same idea that you have of being able to sit on the patio while the children play on the beautiful lawn. No pool, but I believe there is a small beach area at low tide, lots of families with children during the busy season. Breakfast is included with the price of your room so keep that in mind. The key to your room will also open the gate to Marginal Way and the Trolley will pick you up at the top of the street, so no need to even use your car the whole time you are there. What you will get at Beachmere that you won%26#39;t get at the other resort is a breathtaking view of the ocean, priceless. Sorry for going on, but I just love The Beachmere. IF you have any more questions please feel free to ask. Pat

Pat,

Thanks so much! The room I currently have on hold is 108 south. I was debating on saving a few bucks and stay in the west side... But, I do think access to the lawn directly from the room will be a nice option with the kids.

Thanks again..

Matt
