Hi,
We are planning a road trip round New England this summer and want to spend a few days travelling down the Maine coast - how easy would it to be to book accommodation as we go - we like to be flexible and stay a bit longer if we like an area etc. We will be fairly budget conscious, but don%26#39;t want to spend all of our time hunting for accommodation.
Thanks
Accommodation August
I suppose that no one knows exactly what is going to happen this year but generally in the Mount Desert Island/Bar Harbor/Acadia National Park area, most lodging establishments are fully booked.
You might find some places with one-night openings but your ability to negotiate a longer stay would be limited.
Accommodation AugustWhen are you coming? Obviously, Fourth of July is nutty, and various areas have festivals that attract huge crowds, and therefore full bookings, at different times during the summer. Your travel time could help or hinder your ability to book as you go.
Thanks for your replay. We arrive in New York on 30th July and we have to be back in New York 15th August - we were going to book a few days on Cape Cod as we expect that to be very busy, but were not sure how hard it is in other places - we%26#39;d like to be able to book nights as we go.... We are also trying to work out what to budget for accommodation - we%26#39;re not looking for anything special or resort type accommodation - more places to rest our heads, and go out and enjoy the local area.
