A Hurricane?!

Are you kidding me? I finally get to start packing for our big Maine trip, and there%26#39;s a tropical storm/hurricane on it%26#39;s way? How often does something like this actually happen around here? Well, hopefully it will pass quickly and quietly!

A Hurricane?!

Here%26#39;s one of the local TV station%26#39;s forecasts:

A Hurricane?!

Not sure exactly when you will be here but this whole weekend is probably going to be a ';washout';.

First just a coastal low pressure system that has moved in now and then hurricane Kyle or what%26#39;s left of it on Sunday.

By Monday afternoon it will be all gone and back to nice autumn days. While we rarely get a real ';hurricane'; we often get the leftovers, especially this time of year, when they tend to track up off the east coast. Seems its been 10 years or so since we actually had a storm make it all the way to land here still as a hurricane.

Kyle does warrant keeping an eye on, at the least we will get some rain but it is still looking possible that it may hit use as a hurricane, likely going to go to the east but they dont know for sure yet.

There are still a few roads here that haven%26#39;t been repaired from washouts a couple weeks ago hopefully this rain will not be as bad.

here is a link to the hurricane centers latest on Kyle.

We have had a couple years of floods here lately but nothing compared to those people I pity that really get the hurricanes...we get the tail end of them..the rain and some wind, but this one was supposed to hit somewhere around Eastport...saw on www.weather.com and read there that it%26#39;s been 17 years since we had any hurricane watches/warnings on the Maine Coast.

Today was really nice, at least in the southern sections near NH...really sunny and warm.
