Ideas for in and around Portland

A group of 4 of us will be staying at a cottage on a lake at Windham, ME next summer (June/July). We want to spend time in the city, love to eat good food and hear good music (3 of 4 are musicians). We also plan on vegging by the lake, cooking some lobsters, maybe fishing some.

Any advise on guidebooks, music scene, restaurants, things we ought to do would be welcome. We are middle aged, but like to have a good time. We%26#39;re from New Orleans, after all.

Ideas for in and around Portland

You have a couple of places for music, good food and a little boozing.

The Old Port has plenty of local music a bar called The Big Easy and great food. Also you can go up to the Casueway in Naples on Sebago Lake for food and music.
