sea glass?

i%26#39;ve never been to maine before and i%26#39;m trying to book a week+ trip and would like to spend come time looking for sea glass. as the state seem pretty immense to me, and the coast line looks even larger, can anyone recommend places to check out?

sea glass?

yes, that would be Eastport, Maine. We have seaglass on just about every beach. R. Craig

sea glass?

thank you for the reply. eastport is pretty far north!! :)

i%26#39;m planning on going up and down the coast for a couple of day, but i%26#39;m not sure if i%26#39;ll have time to head that far north.

I%26#39;m a big beach glass collector too, and someone once told me that there%26#39;s an amazing beach in Maine, I think somewhere in the midcoast area, where a glass factory used to be be many. many years ago, and consequently, now has a hugeamount of beach glass. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

I am not aware of the place in Mid-maine, but I can attest to the fact that there are alot of places to collect sea glass in Eastport, mainly because it is an island so there is a beach no matter where you go, in addition it is not touristy and the island is perfect for hiking, or biking. There are also ferries to New Brunswick during the summer months.

If you go make sure you get a tour from Jim Blackman and his ';Woody'; California bus. Ask anyone on the island and they%26#39;ll point you in the right direction. There is plenty of whale watching and fishing there as well.

Its less than 2 hours from Bangor, so its not that bad if you are flying in.
