Kayak rentals in Portland or Peaks island

Hi,

we are going to be in Portland just for a day, taking the train up from Boston. I was trying to find some place where we could try some kayaking but can%26#39;t seem to find a place that has tours that would be in the afternoon because our train doesn%26#39;t get into town until right before noon. I saw that Maine Island Kayak has tours but they all seem to start in the morning, even the half day ones. Does anyone have any ideas on where we could rent or another tour? Or, if not, anything else right in the area that would be fun and adventurous for the afternoon?

Kayak rentals in Portland or Peaks island

On May 13th, but I actually talked to someone at Maine Island Kayak and they said that it was no problem with doing a day tour. Is there anything else though that might be fun to do while we are there?
