Restaurants in York????- Mimos?

Is there a restaurant called Mimos? I can%26#39;t find it online but my husband has mentioned it and I believe he said it was in York. I was thinking of taking him there for his bday dinner...Also if anyone does know of it, are there any accomodations w/in walking distance? I%26#39;ve never been to York so i%26#39;m not sure how the town is set up. THANKS!

Restaurants in York????- Mimos?

Mimmo%26#39;s Fine Italian Continental Cuisine is in York on Rt. 1A (or Long Sands Road) along Long Sands Beach. There are two fairly good hotels near the resteraunt, the Cutty Sark and the Anchorage Inn. Both have nice views of the Atlantic Ocean and are open in Winter. The Anchorage has a fairly nice indoor pool if you are into that sort of thing. In York Harbor you could stay at the Stage Neck Inn, which also has a great view.

If you are going to be in York for more then a few days the other place to try it the Chapman Cottage in York Harbor.

Restaurants in York????- Mimos?

Mimos is wonderful. You should make a note that they don%26#39;t have a wine, however you can bring your bottle and they will un-cork and pour for you.

Great place to go! But if you do go there for someones birthday be sure to let Mimo know, he will sing in his loud Italian voice for you! Great food, nice setting, right across the street from Long Sands Beach.

I love Mimo%26#39;s. A gem. The food is superb, the atmosphere is cozy, no matter what the weather is doing, and it%26#39;s great to walk along the beach road after the big dinner when the weather is good -- or whenever - as long as you%26#39;re dressed right. I think it%26#39;s the best restaurant in many miles, and have driven to it from long distances.

Mimmo%26#39;s, on long Sand%26#39;s Beach in Maine 207-363-3807 GREAT place to eat, great garlic bread, and any entree to get is hot, home cooked. It%26#39;s not a fancy atmosphere, very relaxed and homey and Mimmo is a character. Bring your own wine or beer, they don%26#39;t sell it.

Mimmos used to be good- has lost it%26#39;s quality since I first went there 15 yrs ago--and I know for a fact that some of the food is not homemade. But if you want a byob place w/a view, that%26#39;s the place.

I agree Chapman cottage beats it hands down.

You were lucky, I found it and wish now I had not.

Hostess at door:

Poor

Bad attitude said she hated the holidays and wanted them over.

I did not go there to deal with her issues ?

Service:

Poor

I waiting over 15 minutes for a waitress and then after dropping bread and leaving I waited another 15 minutes to order.

Water came after 45 minutes ?

Food:

Poor

I%26#39;ve eaten better tasting Italian Food in a school cafeteria.

Bland, no taste.

Atmosphere:

Bad

There is nothing fancy here, from the plastic colored cups for water to the chipped plates and bowls.

Price:

Bad

They don%26#39;t give it away here as my veal lousy plate was $20.00 !

Regrets,

The food arrived at different times as I was joined by 5 other family members and we all ate at different times. Then at the end the remembered they had forgot to bring spaghetti so that showed up.

By then no one cared.

I think Mimo%26#39;s felt bad as they offered a free buca....

Desert:

Incomplete

We got the bill and ran for the door.

I hate to tell you what we ran for all night after that.....

Advise:

Find another place to eat or go hungry

Grade:

D-

(I got a free buca and the wine was very good even though I brought my own)

I happen to enjoy Mimos. The food is good, like the laid back atmosphere. I will be heading there tonight. I don%26#39;t think if fair to compare it to Chapman%26#39;s since that is like apples and oranges. Two entirely different dining destinations.

Mimmo offers everyone over 21 an aperatif - it wasn%26#39;t offered because of your supposed bad service. I have also had not-so-great service there but I have to say it is the exception not the rule. Mimmos is a real treat - it is an experience, not just a meal.

Mimo%26#39;s is very interesting..yes, food maybe not the best but chef Mimo singing to my friend for her birthday and just wandering around is the dinner show. Had some great food, some not too, but the garlic bread and our own wine - YUMMY!!!!! It is an adventure.
