Boothbay harbor - 3-days

We went to Boothbay Harbor for 3 days from Bar Harbor and at first glance it seemed like a mistake. However, this area grew on us and we enjoyed it just as much as Bar Harbor. We ended up staying at the Harborage for two nights. The rooms were very nice and the location was convenient. The owners were very helpful and his wife cooked a great breakfast. Breakfast was served on the deck and at high tide the view is overlooking the water.

Our first night was at the Tugboat Inn, the location and view might be better but we were unimpressed with the rooms. I also didn%26#39;t like their no refund policy on the rooms at the Tugboat Inn.

We did several hikes Barters Island close by and liked the walk through the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and Prospect Point the best.

The Ebbtide was a great place for breakfast and lunch. McSeagulls was a great restaurant for pub food. they had a large menu.

Boothbay harbor - 3-days

Hirwbv57a,

Glad you enjoyed BBH and thanks for the report! Btw, did you get out to Ocean Pt or Hendricks Headlight Beach? Those are two of the most beautiful spots in the area and shouldn%26#39;t be missed.

Sorry to hear you didn%26#39;t have a great experience at the Tugboat. The location is great, but as far as accomodations go, they%26#39;ve always been pretty basic and motel like. Did you dine there? There have been some very positive reviews of their restaurant as they%26#39;ve gotten a new chef.

The Ebb Tide has been around forever and like you said a great place for breakfast as it is for lunch too. And McSeagulls does have a huge menu and a fun atmosphere.

Again, thanks for reporting back and hope you come back again :).
