How is the fall foliage this year? Is it at peak or is it past peak at this point?

We are a little bit past peak up here in Bar Harbor. But there is still lots of gorgeous color around.

The official site says we%26#39;re at peak, but I think it%26#39;s just past. Still absolutely gorgeous, though.

We just came back this past weekend from Boothbay Harbor and the coast of ME. It seemed peak to us, being from CA, but I%26#39;m sure as the week wears on, the leaves will be dropping some. We thought it was fantastic.

I think we%26#39;ve moved past peak. That%26#39;s not to say that the colors are gone, but that the leaves are dropping pretty quickly now. (However, my maple tree still hasn%26#39;t turned. I think it will be green in December!)

Central Maine area -- Augusta-Waterville -- was probably at peak last week...but still has some color left...

Was out for a couple of hours Sunday afternoon with my camera trying to catch some peak color -- first chance I%26#39;d had to get out this year -- and found myself a bit disappointed. Still some brilliant oranges left when the sun hits them just right, but most of the other colors seemed to have faded a bit in the past few days.

Not to say that there still isn%26#39;t some color around -- even past peak, so long as the leaves stay on the trees they still can be colorful -- just not as brilliant. That said, we%26#39;ve had a noticeable increase in leaf-drop since last week -- and a storm front (snow flurries and possible very light accumulation in the higher elevations and rain elsewhere) is supposed to be moving through today and tomorrow -- suspect that will drop even more leaves.

You%26#39;ve missed the peak as far as this coming weekend is concerned -- but there still may be spots of color around depending on where in the state you%26#39;re headed.

We followed the advice of the state website and traveled last Saturday on Route 17 between Augusta and Rockland. It was spectacular and I have the strong feeling that it will still be peak this coming weekend.
