I%26#39;m not looking for a high end hotel but are there any places that allow dogs?
I don%26#39;t know Maine at all but if there%26#39;re none in Ogunquit what about Kennenbunkport?
Thanks in advance

Help find Ogunquit B%26amp;B that allow dogsThanks for the tip.
Do people bring dogs to the Ogunquit beach before Labor Day? or is the rule strictly enforced?
Also, I read somewhere that Marginal Way is not dog friendly but I don%26#39;t understand why, is it just a walk trail?
Thanks
The no dog rule is strictly enforced on Ogunquit Beach. You may want to check out Kennebunk. Gooches Beach allows dogs after 5:pm, however after Labour Day I%26#39;ve seen many dogs on that beach (on the leash) during the day. There%26#39;s a B%26amp;B in Kennebunk called The Houndstooth that is very dog friendly.
Wells Beach has a no-dog rule from 8am to 6pm until September 15th.
Our friends recently rented a cottage at SEASIDE INN AND COTTAGES in Kennebunkport. They brought their small dog (a westie) and could walk right along the private beach there.

They highly recommended it there and plan to go back.
From what I have heard the beaches in Kennebunk are more pet-friendly than Ogunquit beaches. They allow them on the beaches in the morning during summer.
Guess it depends on what time of year you go.
FYI - from the Ogunquit website:

Dogs on the Beach?
The current Town Ordinance states:
';Dogs are not permitted within the Ogunquit Beach area or the Marginal Way from May 15th to September 8th.';
';Dogs are permitted within the Ogunquit Beach Area and Marginal Way from September 9th to May 14th.';
Studio East allows dogs in some rooms, but I don%26#39;t believe they are allowed on the beach.
Go to www.maine.info/beach-southernmainecoast.html for rules regarding dogs on the beaches in southern Maine. The Lodge at Turbat%26#39;s Creek allows dogs. It is is Kennebunkport. So does the Lodge at Kennebunk.
Just stayed at the West Highland Inn this past weekend, and they are openly dog-friendly. It is in a fantastic location -- park the car when you arrive and you never need to move it again until you leave. I can%26#39;t speak for anywhere else, but definitely look up this inn if you%26#39;re bringing your dog.
3 places in Kennebunkport allow dogs
1. Colony Hotel - high end hotel - no tvs in the rooms but nice pool area, good restaurant and pretty views
2. The Yachtsmen - mid range - very nice, on the water - more like a motel than a hotel but furnishings and accommodations are very nice. Good that you can just park your car right outside your room
3. Hounds Tooth Inn in Kennebunk - smaller bed and breakfast - very cute and the owners are very nice
Good luck. Good beach for dogs is Gooche Beach in Kennebunk
