1st trip to north east need info please

Hi all,we have never been to north east, wanting to take wife weekend after labor day we like hiking, wife likes shopping and people watching, wanting to stay in cabin or hotel on water, picturing light houses and shopping in village atmosphere were we can just meander around maybe grab a lobster roll. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate lodging recommendations also. Thank You

If you like hiking, Acadia National Park is definitely the best place to come. We have lots of hiking for all skill levels. The village of Bar Harbor would give you that people watching, lobster roll, village atmosphere. I good place to stay in Bar Harbor, on the water, is Saltair. It%26#39;s an old mansion with a sloping lawn to the water, right on West Stree in the village. It%26#39;s a B%26amp;B with four rooms to rent.

Thank You, Bonnie for the info it is greatly appreciated.

Would there happen to be any cabins that are secluded in woods (I know they probably will not be water front) in the area that are nice and clean, we can do rustic, just has to be clean? Thanks

The usual cabins for rent are in clusters, none of them very isolated from the others. A good resource for that sort of thing is acadiamagic.com. They have a section on cottages and cabins.
