How would you rate The Beachmere based on this?

So, I know The Beachmere is a very popular hotel, but, if you were to do a review based on my experience, how many stars would you give? We stayed one night this past weekend. We would never be able to afford to stay there during the summer, so it was a great opportunity to visit off season. The location was unbeatable. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good. The room was large, the beds comfortable. So, what%26#39;s my complaint? When my daughter pulled back the bed covers to go to bed, there was a long hair on the pillowcase. My other daughter%26#39;s pillow was fine. The, when DH and I pulled back the covers on our bed, all 3 pillows had hairs on them. These were long hairs...dark...multiple hairs. How does housekeeping not see dark hairs that are at least 4 or more inches long? How can 4 out of the 5 pillows provided all have hairs on them? I loved the property, but really, don%26#39;t know what to make of this.

We also had a dreadful housekeeping experience at the beachmere.Human hairs...not from our family were in the bathroom,in the shower and the furniture was stained and felt unclean. To make matters worse we were there during the most expensive time of year. The location is great but human hair from strangers is a dealbreaker for our family...no stars for lousy housekeeping.

I would post your review exactly as it is written here. What number rating you give them is up to you. I guess you have to decide how offensive you found the housekeeping. Give them a 1-2 if you think people should stay away. Give them a higher number if you%26#39;re just trying to alert the management to this problem. I hope you also complained to the manager as some properties have no idea what people write on TripAdvisor.

My guess is that the housekeeper has long black hairs that she is shedding all of the room as she is cleaning. That is why she%26#39;s missing them.

We are actually leaving for the Beachmere tomorrow. We stayed there this past October and I did write a very good review of the Beachmere because we had a very good experience with none of the housekeeping issues you bring up. I would ask if the cleanliness of the rest of the room was up to your expectations and it could be as simple as mentioning it to the manager so they could remind the housekeepers to keep their hair tied back, we all shed hair daily. I also think reviews of The Beachmere are rated higher if you stay in the new suites versus staying at one of their off property rooms which are probably due to be updated.

We called the front desk as soon as we saw the problem, at 9:40 pm. No one answered the phone, so we left a detailed message on the voice mail. We told them that we didn%26#39;t want anyone calling us back at that hour as we were all in our pajamas and ready to go to bed, but that we wanted them to be aware of the problem. I forgot to mention in my original post that, luckily, we had each brought 1 pillow from home. We like to have an extra one, but this night we obviously slept only on our own pillows. No one called us the next morning, and we mentioned it to the person at the desk when we went to breakfast. He said that the owner was having a meeting very soon with housekeeping anyway. I wonder if they%26#39;ve had a lot of complaints recently.

I should add that they said someone would be on duty at the front desk until 10 pm. No one answered the phone at 9:40, but, to be fair, if they had just stepped away for a moment, we did ask them to not call back as we were going to bed.

Hi Hershey4, we just returned on Sunday from a three night stay at The Beachmere. I hope that you will give The Beachmere another chance. This is the first winter Beachmere has been open and I did mention to the staff that I had read your complaint on TA and they did discuss the issue which is related to static cling and will definitely be checking the linens more closely, static cling is a problem we have in the winter, but not in the summer and this is the first winter they have been open. We also go the Beachmere on the off season due to the cost and this is our second of hopefully many trips back. We have also stayed at The Grand Hotel, The Meadowmere, The Mariner and probably a few other places, but none of them measure up to The Beachmere for its location, wonderful staff and proximity to Marginal Way.

Baseballmom1,

I have been delinquent in reposting. The owner (manager?) contacted me the end of last week. She apologized and also explained about the problem with the dryers. I can fully understand, because when I take MY sheets out of the dryer, they can have hairs on them. The difference is, it%26#39;s MY hair. She told me of the steps they have taken to correct the problem and she offered me compensation and I am more than satisfied. There was a problem, but they took care of it. I would absolutely stay at the Bechmere again.

That last sentence should read Beachmere. Gosh, I wish you could edit your posts on Trip Advisor.
