Winter vacation locations for occasional skiers

Hi, Hubbie and I are narrowing down our ideas for a December 2009 vacation and would appreciate your recommendations, knowing that this is what we%26#39;d like to find in an ideal world:

a) condo unit for a full week within 6 or so hours of Boston with 2 bedrooms and a fold out couch/bed so we can invite the adult kids with significant others for a night or two

b) near or at a ski-village area where we could ski for a day or two WITH RENTALS, crosscountry ski for a day or two and/or skate for a few hours

c) close to a village with evening entertainment (restaurants, movies, bars with dancing music)

Ideas? I posted this a few weeks ago but still haven%26#39;t seen what I think we%26#39;d want although I will be checking out the couple of resorts recommended. Thanks all!

I think Bethel and Sunday River are what you%26#39;re looking for. You could stay on-mountain, where you could ski out from your door, or in Bethel where you could walk to everything in the village. The resort itself has a lot going on for nightlife. Bethel is a lovely quaint village. Just four hours from Boston.
