New Innkeeper at Hartwell House

We have been vacationing in Maine for many years and we love Ogunquit. We have stayed at a variety of Inns.B and B%26#39;s and small hotels.We stopped staying at The Hartwell House a few years ago because it had gotten very expensive and the service,rooms and inkeeper were not up to par. We returned to Ogunquit this summer and revisited the Hartwell House having heard they had a new Innkeeper.The new Innkeeper named Waddy had ';years '; of experience and we had hoped for a return to our better days at this once lovely Inn.The new Innkeeper is the least hospitable man my family has ever encountered and did nothing to remedy several problems we had with our room.We stayed in the most expensive suite and paid with tax over $350.00 per night. We arrived to find the ceiling leaking into our livingroom area,his answer was to put a garbage can under the wet mess and told us the situation would fix itself when the weather improved.Our ';luxury'; room had a broken fixture in the bathroom and a severely torn screen leading to the deck.When we opened the pull out couch a random flip-flop was found from a prior guest.The furnishings had not been updated,the entire Inn was a dismal shadow of it%26#39;s former self.Nothing has been renovated and the entire place looks tired and is in dire need of sprucing up.This task seems quite overwhelming for Waddy as he was completely arrogant,rude and disinterested in our basic comfort. The guests should be of utmost concern to an Innkeeper.I hope fellow tripadvisors find other places to stay and avoid the terrible service we encountered.

The reviews for the hartwell house have got to be written by ';friends'; of the innkeeper. This was the worst experience we have ever had at a b and b in maine. I caution all to stay away from this inn until it is in better hands,this innkeeper is ill suited for his job.

As previously stated, you should post this in a REVIEW. People looking for a place to stay normally would check the reviews before searching forums. If the Inn%26#39;s ';friends'; are leaving nice reviews, then yours will negate them.
