Trip to Boston and Maine

My family 2 adults and 2 young adults are planning a trip to Boston mid december for 3 nights and then an overnight trip to somewhere close by on the coast..Maine? Need advice on the overnight trip...since it will be cold I am not looking for activites as much as most scenic and quaint spots. Good restaurants and inns. Thanks

I%26#39;ve never been in Winter but you might want to consider Kennebunkport. I recently read an article (Down East Magazine ?) that talked about how nice it is in the Christmas season.

K%26#39;bunkport is definitely close enough and the town is nice. There are plenty of B%26amp;Bs but not sure which are open in the winter. There are some excellent restaurants around teh area as well.
